    Salvation Army accepting applications for Christmas program

    CORNING, N.Y. ( WETM ) – The Salvation Army of Corning is now accepting applications for its 2024 Christmas program for those in need.

    From now until Nov. 15, families in need are invited to submit an application for gifts for their children this holiday season, as well as to receive a holiday food basket provided by the Salvation Army.

    Applications for the program must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian of a child no older than 13 years old. Upon arrival to submit an application, parents/guardians must provide a photo ID, proof of address, proof of all household income and an ID for all children up to 13 years old.

    In the application, parents/guardians should include two toy selections, as well as clothing and shoe sizes. It must be noted that toy selections are requests and that no item is guaranteed.

    If you or someone you know is interested in submitting an application for this holiday season, you can call to schedule an appointment at the Salvation Army in Corning at 607-684-2006. The Salvation Army is located at 32 Denison Pkwy East and is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Those who are not feeling well are asked to wear a mask when arriving for their appointment.
