ELMIRA, N.Y. ( WETM ) – A milling and paving project will close several streets in the City of Elmira toward the end of October.

As reported in a release from the Department of Public Works, College Ave from Washington Ave to Woodlawn Ave will be closed on Oct. 22, 23 and possibly the 24th for milling and Oct. 25, 28 and possibly the 29th for paving.

Residents are advised that no parking will be available on these streets during these times and that all vehicles must be out of driveways by 6 a.m. Residents should park on their nearest side street while streets are closed.

When paving is taking place, there will be no traffic allowed on the above-listed streets. Traffic control crews will be available to assist drivers on these streets in the case of an emergency. The street will reopen for traffic once the milling and paving is complete.

All work for the project is weather permitting and subject to change.
