Gun sales help Gulf County girl battling cancer

WEWAHITCHKA, Fla. ( WMBB ) — One Gulf County girl is getting help battling a rare cancer from firearms.

Henry Repeating Arms is raising more than $40,000 by selling 50 specialty rifles for “Team Baylee” .

Baylee Rish is a 10-year-old girl from Wewahitchka diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of blood and bone marrow cancer called B-ALL.

To help with medical bills and treatment, nationwide firearms company Henry Repeating Arms made Baylee the latest recipient of Guns for Great Causes.

“It helps raise needed money for families that have a lot of out-of-pocket expenses,” said Anthony Imperato, founder of Henry Repeating Arms.

50 Golden Boy rifles were created with a special dolphin decoration Baylee picked out.

“Baylee chose the dolphins because she wanted to be in the oceanic. She wants to be in the oceanic world one day when she gets older and she will be,” Imperato said.

48 of the rifles have already been bought, leaving 2 to be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

“Serial number 1 and serial number 50 which are more valuable because it’s a limited edition, they are being auctioned off at Gunbroker.com,” Imperato said.

Henry’s Founder and CEO said helping kids like Baylee has become a mission for his company.

“Guns for great causes focuses on pediatric cancer, but it also funds wounded veterans organizations, families of first responders that have been lost in the line of duty wildlife conservation,” Imperato said.

100% of the sales will go to Baylee and her family. The online rifle auction ends on Aug. 7.

Guns for great causes has helped more than 60 families.
