Wausau man indicted on drug trafficking charges
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – A federal grand jury indicted a Wausau man as part of a large drug trafficking ring. Bee Her, 45, is charged with distribution of more than 50 grams of methamphetamine. The indictment claims the drug trafficiking took place over a 10 day period in the fall of 2023.

Presentation to address groundwater contamination
A retired water quality research engineer who has authored 55 published articles in scientific journals on the contamination and hazard to water resources in agricultural landscapes found in the Midwest will share his expertise on the topic in the area next Wednesday. The Door County Environmental Council is hosting "This Land is Their Land: Historical Perspectives on Cornbelt Water Quality" at the Kress Pavilion in Egg Harbor on July 31. The program features Chris Jones, who wrote "The Swine Republic, Struggles with Truth about Agriculture and Water Quality." Retired from the Hydroscience & Engineering School at the University of Iowa, Dr. Jones says Door County and Iowa share the same challenges and health concerns regarding improving groundwater quality. He says we need regulation of production agriculture with increased concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs).

MINNEAPOLIS — Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will campaign for his wife, Vice President Harris, on Saturday in Wisconsin.WSAW reports Emhoff will visit and speak at the seventh annual Hmong Wausau Festival.He will then head to a canvass launch for Harris and other Democrats on the ballot in Stevens Point, according to the Portage County Wisconsin Democrats Facebook page.Emhoff has made several trips to Minnesota in the past four years to campaign for President Biden and DFL Party candidates, including a visit in March to tout a $20 million federal grant for the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. He also visited St. Paul's Afro Deli last year to present owner Adirahman Kahin with the National Small Business Owner of the Year award.On Saturday, former President Donald Trump and running mate Sen. JD Vance will hold their first joint presidential rally in Minnesota at St. Cloud's Herb Brooks Arena.Vance will also appear at a fundraiser earlier in the day in Minneapolis. Entry to that event costs $3,300, with tickets up to $50,000 for a roundtable discussion and a photo with the candidate.
