Rutgers hyped point guard recruit Dylan Harper and head coach Steve Pikiell joined the Morning Show on Tuesday to announce the news that WFAN is the new home for RU men’s basketball.

The FAN will now carry Scarlet Knights football and hoops games, and just in time when it comes to the hardwood, as Pikiell and his top recruiting class are expected to put together one of the most exciting seasons in recent memory in Piscataway.

“It’s been an exciting summer,” Pikiell said. “I’m exciting about the youth and our veteran guys. it’s gonna be a great year. Glad WFAN has jumped on with Rutgers athletics. We’re excited.”

Harper, one of the top recruits in program history, is a New Jersey native and a Don Bosco product who, along with Bailey, the top recruit in program history, will have Jersey Mike’s Arena rocking this season, and all the action will be heard on WFAN.

“When you have one of the best point guards in the country, and Ace Bailey, one of the best wings in the country, but our veterans too…we have some veteran guys, and then the talent that the young guys have brought,” Pikiell said. “We’re long, we’re athletic, have some really good talent. I’m excited for the energy these guys bring.

“These guys get me excited about coming to work every day.”

It’s also an exciting development for Jerry Recco, the voice of Rutgers hoops, who will now be heard on the FAN for both Scarlet Knights action and Boomer and Gio updates.

“We were on two different stations over the last eight years, so this is kind of neat that it will be here,” Jerry said. “That is very cool. So when I’m getting off the plane at 3:00 in the morning and coming right here, it will be on the same station hours later.”
