C-Mac rips 'atrocious performance' by Daniel Jones in Giants Week 1 loss

Chris McMonigle opened Monday morning’s show by going off on the Giants and specifically Daniel Jones, who was flat-out disastrous in his first game back from ACL surgery.

“But he has his best wide receiver core! But the offensive line has been revamped! But Brian Daboll is calling the plays now!” C-Mac said, mocking all the excuses he heard from Jones believers during the offseason. “What an absolute disgrace…what do you have now in ‘the year of Daniel Jones’?”

C-Mac has long been a believer that Jones is not the answer and the Giants should have moved on, and now, they very well may have to after Sunday’s flop. But it would already be too late in terms of saving this season, as the Giants went all in on Jones again by not trading up to draft a rookie quarterback, and settled for signing Drew Lock to replace Tyrod Taylor as Jones’ backup. C-Mac isn’t sure how much longer Jones will be under center for the Giants, but if he is going to play like he did on Sunday, the end has to be near.

“’The year of Daniel Jones.’ What an atrocious performance,” C-Mac said. “I don’t care. I don’t want to hear that he is coming off of major surgery…I don’t care. He was throwing at everyone’s feet. He was atrocious. It’s hard to fathom how bad he was…you can’t play worse than that. This is the guy they signed to a contract? I can’t watch it anymore. My eyes are bleeding watching it.

“He is ruined, and they’re still running him out there.”
