Gio tired of Giants/Saquon Barkey debate: 'He's gone. He shouldn't have been here'

Saquon Barkley’s second game as an Eagle went decidedly worse than his first, dropping what would have been the game-sealing pass before the Falcons stormed down the field to steal the game on national television.

The game still offered plenty of chances to resurface the debate over whether Barkley should be in New York still playing for the Giants, but Gio made it clear on Tuesday morning that he is fed up with the conversation, and wants to move on.

“Its over. He’s gone. He shouldn’t have been here,” They offered him a contract and he turned it down…they shouldn’t have paid him. Let him go. Let him do his thing.

“Joe Schoen hasn’t made a lot of good decisions. Letting Saquon Barkley go wasn’t one of them. There’s nothing about what Saquon Barkley brought to that team where it would have been smart to bring him back for the money they would have had to pay him.”

Boomer is also done with the debate, but he wouldn’t be so quick as to declare that moving on from Barkley was the right move for the Giants, and to close the book on who made the smarter move.

“I don’t think we’ll know about that decision until the season is over…and we see how impactful he is for the Eagles,” Boomer said. “He obviously is a big part of their offense.

“I’m tired of all that stuff too, but we gotta see what it looks like after 17 games.”
