TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — An 18-story tower, soon-to-be Tampa’s tallest building in Midtown will bring new heights to the growing city.
The 200-foot-high Midtown East Tower sits in the heart of Midtown. The 430,000-square-foot building will have 360-degree views, sustainable amenities, office spaces, and ground-level retail.
The future headquarters of Tampa Electric and People Gas will sit in Midtown East, along with Highwoods Properties and The Bromley Companies, the developer of the building.
“The topping out of Midtown East is an incredible moment for not only the development but for the city of Tampa,” Nicholas Haines, the CEO of The Bromley Companies said. “The area continues to attract residents, visitors and office tenants – globally, nationally and locally – and Midtown Tampa’s central live-work-play district supports a variety of experiences.
Haines said this new development will enhance the community through sustainable and innovative workspaces.
Exciting features of the new tower include covered outdoor terraces, a heat-reflective roof, and retail and restaurant spaces.
“Midtown East signifies an elevation of the customer experience in office space in Tampa Bay and a pivotal addition to a thriving Midtown area. We are thrilled to celebrate the expansion of Tampa’s workforce epicenter,” Dan Woodward, the Senior Vice President and Tampa Market Leader of Highwoods Properties said.
Woodward added the tower will blend urban and sub-urban lifestyles, emphasizing a “people-focused environment.”
The Midtown Tampa development sits on roughly 23 acres of land in West Tampa, offering a brand-new commercial and residential district. The space is comprised of more than 700,000 square feet of office space, 390 rental apartments, a 3-acre lake, a recreational trail, 185,000 square feet of retail space, and more.
The rapidly expanding district has strong leasing demand and presents itself as an ideal office environment, combining the elements of work, play, and life.
The building is expected to be completed by 2025.
