TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A 28-year-old man accused of causing a three-vehicle crash on Dale Mabry Highway last month was arrested on Friday after turning himself in, Tampa police announced.

Around 3:28 a.m. on June 22, police responded to the crash in the 1900 block of North Dale Mabry near West Spruce Street.

Officials determined the driver, Terrence Jenkins, struck another vehicle that was slowing down at a red light, causing it to overturn. Another vehicle stopped at the light was also hit by Jenkins’ vehicle.

A woman, who was a rear passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Three other passengers in the overturned vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and passengers in the third vehicle were not hurt.

Police said Jenkins showed signs of impairment, and a blood sample revealed his Blood Alcohol Content level was 0.126.

After turning himself in on Friday, Jenkins was taken to Orient Road Jail. He was charged with vehicular homicide, DUI with serious bodily injury and DUI manslaughter.
