Florida mom leaves child in hot car while she shopped at Walmart: police

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida mom is behind bars after she left her child in a hot car while she shopped at a Walmart over the weekend, according to the Hollywood Police Department.

Anastasiya Motalava, 34, originally from St. Petersburg, was arrested after officers found her child trapped inside her vehicle, alone, on Sunday.

Local fire crews said the vehicle was not running and the windows were only slightly cracked.

Surveillance footage captured Motalava shopping inside the store for over 30 minutes while the child sat inside the car.

Police arrested and charged Motalava with child neglect.
