HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A woman with Alzheimer’s who went missing earlier this week was safely found in the middle of the night by Hillsborough County deputies.

Around 2 a.m. Saturday, HCSO responded to the 3400 block of Reynoldswood Drive in Tampa to try to find the woman, who had been reported missing.

The video shows the moment authorities locate her in a wooded and swampy area, with the help of infrared cameras and their aviation unit.

“We’re going to get you home, ma’am,” the deputies are heard saying.

Two of the deputies are then seen hoisting the woman up, as they carry her to their patrol cars.

“I am beyond thankful and relieved we were able to locate and rescue this missing woman quickly,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “This incident highlights our specialized units and technology’s critical role in ensuring the safety of our community. “Our team’s dedication to service and swift response made all the difference in bringing her home safely.”

The woman was found unharmed and was brought home safely.
