TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Jordan Hidalgo was arrested Friday and charged with two felonies related to unfinished projects by one of his now-closed companies, Modern Pools.

Hidalgo was the central character in a Better Call Behnken investigation, involving unfinished pools in multiple counties. He was also a short-term partner in the now-defunct Olympus Pools, which closed with dozens of unfinished pools.

Last September, amid a state investigation into more than 50 complaints about his companies, Hidalgo surrendered his nine licenses used by several pool companies.

Now, he has been arrested and charged with two contractor fraud felonies related to two unfinished pools by modern pools. Public records show the case was investigated by a criminal investigator for Pinellas County Consumer Protection.

In both cases, the state alleges Modern Pools was paid in full for projects that weren’t completed.

In one case, the state said nearly $29,000 worth of work for a screen enclosure and roof and wi-fi controller weren’t provided.

In a separate case, the state alleges $17,000 in work wasn’t done for travertine decking and window alarms.

These cases involve only Modern Pools.

Hidalgo’s licenses surrendered licenses represented the following companies: Modern Pools, West Bay Pools, Staycation Pools & Spas, Pinellas Construction Services, LLC, 30 day Pools, Pools By Jordan and A to Z Gulfcoast Service. For two of the companies, he held two licenses.

Meanwhile, there are several ongoing criminal investigations in multiple jurisdictions into Hidalgo’s business dealings.
