TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — After the University of South Florida had a successful season during Alex Goelsh’s first year as head coach, expectations for the Bulls.

The Bulls will take on Alabama and Miami this year, plus a front-loaded American Athletic Conference schedule that includes a trip to Tulane and an ESPN Friday night home showcase against Memphis.

“This is a place that should have expectations. This is a place that should win every year. This is the place that with the resources we have and we’ve been given we should expect to win every week regardless of who we play,” USF head coach Alex Golesh said.

The Bulls have a more experienced squad this season — they’re entering 2024 with 28 graduates on the roster and 12 sixth-year players.

“The challenge to our guys, regardless of who we’re playing is winning today and just making sure that we work on our process today and that can’t change based on who your opponent is. Teams that get up and get down and up and get down — those are inconsistent teams and that was us a year ago,” Golesh said.

USF kicks off their season on Saturday at home against the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats at 7 p.m.
