    Sandbag sites open all weekend long in Manatee County

    BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — After already dealing with significant rainfall in August, sandbag sites will be open all weekend long in Manatee County, as we approach the peak of hurricane season.

    The county is opening multiple locations to encourage residents to remain prepared and take the necessary precautions for storm season.

    Below are the locations that will be open throughout the holiday weekend:

    Bradenton

    • Bennett Park: 400 Cypress Creek Boulevard
    • Self-service
    • Closes at 10 p.m.
    • Dam Road: 1505 Dam Road
    • Self-service

    Holmes Beach

    • Holmes Beach Police Department: 5801 Marina Drive
    • Self-service

    Palmetto

    • Buffalo Creek Park: 7550 69th Street East
    • Self-service
    • Closes at 10 p.m.

    Lakewood Ranch

    • Lakewood Ranch Park: 5350 Lakewood Ranch Boulevard
    • Self-service
    • Closes at 10 p.m.

    Myakka

    • Myakka Community Center: 10060 Wauchula Road
    • Self-service

    Parrish

    • Rye Preserve: 905 Rye Wilderness Trail
    • Self-service
    • Daytime hours only
