    Clearwater police identify man found dead in Mandalay Channel

    CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — The Clearwater Police Department is conducting a death investigation after a man’s body was found floating in a Clearwater Beach channel on Labor Day.

    According to police, the man’s body was found in Mandalay Channel off the 400 block of East Shore Drive sometime this afternoon after a welfare check was requested.

    The deceased man was identified as Harry Arnold, 69. The cause of death has still not been release as of Tuesday.

    Based on the preliminary investigation, foul play is not suspected.
