    Pedestrian hit twice in fatal hit-and-run, Largo police say

    LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) — The Largo Police Department is investigating a deadly hit-and-run on Wednesday night.

    According to the LPD, James Michael Lescord, 56, was crossing the road on Roosevelt Boulevard east of US-19 when a vehicle hit him and fled the scene.

    Shortly after, a second vehicle hit the person who was still in the road. The person in the second vehicle did stay on scene and did not appear impaired, police said.

    Homicide detectives described the suspect’s vehicle as a dark-colored Ford or Mercury SUV.

    LPD asked anyone who witnessed the crash to call the police department at 727-587-6730.

    Oh my god that’s so sad! That area on Roosevelt is so dark! They will find out who the first vehicle is because of the damage he’ll have on his front end. The second person probably thought it was just a bunch of fabric on the road. This happened one time on Ulmerton Road in front of the Oasis apartment complex. It was a very long time ago, but a person got hit and right afterwards two other cars ran the body over. It was sickening. Keep your eyes on the road. Please stay off your phone!🙏
