TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers season opener against the Washington Commanders Sunday was a scorcher, with the temperature peaking at 91 degrees just before kickoff.

Tampa Fire Rescue said they received 74 calls and transported 19 people for heat-related issues during the Week 1 matchup at Raymond James Stadium.

According to TFR, all the calls were made by anyone who felt like they needed help; for example, someone who needed water or felt fatigue. Meanwhile, those who were transported, medically needed to leave or chose to transport themselves.

As temperatures stayed well between the high 70s and low 80s throughout the game, the agency said many of the callers “could not stand the heat.”

that's funny... I've been there when it's been well over 100 down in the bowl. Saw McNabb puking on the field once from the heat.
