CLEARWATER (BLOOM) — Love is in the air—or is that a chill running down your spine? The Pinellas County Clerk’s Office is once again embracing the spooky season by hosting its third annual Halloween-themed “Scare-amonies” for couples ready to tie the knot with a haunting twist.

Back by popular demand, these spooktacular ceremonies will take place from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31 at the Halloween-themed Wedding Ceremony Room in the Clearwater Courthouse , located at 315 Court Street, Room 150. Couples can exchange vows in a setting straight out of a ghost story, complete with eerie decorations and a festive atmosphere that promises to make your special day unforgettable.

“Participation has grown each year, and we expect this year’s turnout to be the best yet,” said Ken Burke, Clerk of the Circuit Court. “We are proud to offer wedding services throughout the year, and our Halloween-themed room creates a truly special experience.”

The themed room will be open on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome throughout the month, but space is limited on Halloween day. Couples wishing to say “I boo” on Oct. 31 are encouraged to schedule an appointment on their website to avoid longer wait times.

Embracing the spirit of the season, couples are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes and bring along up to 10 guests to share in the festivities. Just a friendly reminder: for identification purposes, heavy makeup isn’t permitted before verification, and face masks must be removable.

To add an extra touch to your magical day, the Clerk’s Office offers photographs for $10 and commemorative Halloween-themed wedding certificates for $5. If a traditional ceremony is more your style, a standard wedding room will remain open for non-themed weddings.

Before you embark on your happily ever after, don’t forget to obtain a valid marriage license. Licenses are valid for 60 days from the date of issuance, so ensure your ceremony falls within that timeframe. For more information on obtaining a marriage license and to complete the marriage application prior to your visit, please visit MyPinellasClerk.gov .

If Halloween isn’t quite your thing, the Clerk’s Office has you covered with other upcoming themed weddings: a Winter Wonderland ceremony in December 2024, a Valentine’s-themed ceremony in February 2025, and a “May the Fourth”-themed ceremony in May 2025.

Whether you’re a pair of love-struck ghosts or just fans of all things spooky, the “Scare-amonies” offer a unique and enchanting way to begin your next chapter together. For any questions, Recording Services is available at (727) 464-4551.
