TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Today was hot, with limited afternoon storms that continued to build into the evening hours, mainly to the east of I-75. The showers will fade after 9 p.m. and we will be quiet overnight, slowly cooling.

Overall, the rain chance is lower tomorrow, and the rain that forms will push inland and over to the east coast in the evening. Watch for morning downpours on Friday as moisture spreads in early from the Gulf of Mexico. That also means fewer evening showers expected.

We keep the rain chance on the lower side through the weekend and next week. Still spotty downpours each day, but the coverage won’t be as high.

Hurricane Francine maked landfall as a Category 2 storm in Louisiana. Tropical Depression 7 has formed in the Eastern Atlantic and is expected to be a fish storm. Two other tropical waves in the Atlantic should stay mainly out to sea.
