ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — A beloved steakhouse in St. Petersburg is closing its door, following the announcement of the owner’s retirement.

Harold Seltzers Steakhouse will permanently close on Sept. 29 after 29 years of business.

In an announcement on Facebook , the owner said he opened the restaurant’s first location in 1995, under the name “Sam Seltzer’s,” before changing it to “Harold Seltzers” in 2010.

“I am sad because it has been a labor of love since 1995 when I opened our first Sam Seltzer’s in Tampa.”

Now until Sept. 29, customers can enter a drawing for a chance to win a grand prize of one of the restaurant’s iconic cows, along with several pieces of artwork that line the steakhouse. They will also have a donation box to support CASA, the non-profit provider of domestic violence support and services in Pinellas County .

According to the announcement post, when the owner no longer has to put in more than 60 hours of work, he will spend his time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

“I will truly miss our wonderful and dedicated employees, several of whom have been with me for many years. I will also truly miss serving YOU, our wonderful and loyal customers,” he said.

The restaurant said the property will be transformed into a “Dignity Memorial-branded celebration of life center.”

“We look forward to serving you during these final 3 weeks to help celebrate my retirement and the end of the Seltzer’s Era in the Tampa Bay Area, with all of us. It has been my honor and pleasure to serve you, and the entire Seltzer Family and our wonderful team is and remains deeply grateful for your patronage and support over the last 30 years!”
