    Police searching for trio who exchanged fake $100 bill for lottery tickets

    AUBURNDALE, Fla. (WFLA) — Auburndale police are on the hunt for three people who they said exchanged a counterfeit $100 bill for five lottery tickets last month.

    Around 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 13, three individuals in a dark grey compact Honda arrived at a drive-thru bay door at the Beverage Castle, located at 605 Charlotte Road in Auburndale.

    Police said the rear passenger requested five Gold Rush lottery tickets, each valued at $20. They handed the store a folded $100 bill, as the employee handed over the tickets.

    When the store realized the bill was fake, they tried to confront the individuals in the vehicle, who quickly drove away.

    The suspect is described as a white male with dark facial hair. He had prescription glasses, tattoos on both arms and hands and was wearing a black T-shirt with blue shorts.

    The driver is described as a white female with dark hair. She had sunglasses on top of her head, was smoking a cigarette, and was wearing a black tank top. The front passenger is unknown.
