TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – It’s a seasonably warm day with highs near 90 degrees. The average high has come down to 90 degrees after being at 91 for three months. (It drops to 89 in just 10 days.)

Spotty showers develop this afternoon and push east of I-75. Overall the coverage is only about 30%. It’s similar for tomorrow with mostly inland storms.

The rain chance remains at 30% for most of the week. We may see a few more late-day storms this weekend.

Highs stay near average into next week.

Potential Tropical Cyclone 8 may become Tropical Storm Helene off the Carolina coast before pushing onshore and drifting north. The only impact it may have on us is to keep the slightly drier air around in the upper levels of the atmosphere.

Tropical Depression Gordon meanders in the central Atlantic. It may strengthen back to a tropical storm, but it stays far out to sea.
