Keke’s Breakfast Cafe: Generous portions and friendly service

TAMPA (BLOOM) – Last Sunday, my girlfriend Kiana and I ventured out to Keke’s Breakfast Cafe around 1 p.m., eager to experience what the buzz was all about. Located in Largo in Pinellas County, Keke’s came highly recommended, and we were curious to see if it lived up to the hype. We were met with warm smiles and a lively atmosphere, which was no surprise given it was a busy Sunday afternoon. If you want to try them yourself they have locations in Temple Terrace, Wesley Chapel, Palm Harbor, and throughout Florida! (Read all the way to the end of this review to find out how to score free pancakes!)
As soon as we were seated, we were handed large menus filled with classic breakfast and lunch options, all reasonably priced. I decided on a hearty combo: one buttermilk pancake, scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage links, a side of bacon, and American home fries loaded with bacon and cheese. Kiana went for the Santa Fe omelet, pairing it with American home fries, white toast, and turkey bacon. To top it off, the manager brought us a surprise—a generous serving of their raspberry stuffed French toast, insisting it was a “must-try.” Spoiler: she was right. It was delicious!
When our meals arrived, we were stunned by the portion sizes. The plates were filled to the brim, and for the price, it was truly impressive. Kiana even commented that one of her pet peeves is when diners serve food she could easily whip up at home, but Keke’s? It surpassed her expectations. The breakfast staples were classic but elevated, with quality ingredients and a variety of options that left us both satisfied.
From the perfectly cooked eggs to the crispy, flavorful home fries, everything hit the mark. Kiana loved her Santa Fe omelet, while I couldn’t get enough of the fluffy pancake that was cooked to golden perfection. The raspberry stuffed French toast was a delightful bonus—rich, sweet, and indulgent without being too heavy.
The entire experience, from the food to the friendly staff, was enjoyable. And the best part? The bill came out to just around $50, which, considering the generous portions, felt like a steal. We left feeling full, happy, and eager to return.
For those looking to try Keke’s, there’s an extra incentive to visit this month. In celebration of National Pancake Day on September 26 , Keke’s is offering some great promotions. On that day, you can enjoy a free small stack of pancakes with any entrée purchase when you mention the code word “GOLDEN” to your server. And if you’re ordering through third-party delivery apps between September 23-25, spending $30 will get you a free order of Silver Dollar pancakes—perfect for pancake lovers who prefer to enjoy their meal at home.
Overall, Keke’s Breakfast Cafe exceeded our expectations with its delicious food, welcoming environment, and budget-friendly prices. Whether you’re celebrating National Pancake Day or just stopping by for a weekend brunch, it’s a spot I wholeheartedly recommend.
Worst breakfast I've had. Food was cold and poor flavor. Server acted like she hated her job (Brooksville FL location). Haven't been back.
