    National Hurricane Center monitors potential disturbance in Caribbean

    TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Rainfall and thunderstorms continue in the central tropical Atlantic as the remainder of Gordon moves north, the National Hurricane Center said.

    This system is expected to interact with a non-tropical low in the next couple of days making conditions favorable for a tropical depression or storm to re-form later in the week.

    According to the NHC, a chance of development in the next seven days is 60%.

    Located in the northwestern Caribbean Sea, an area of low pressure could form over the weekend.

    The chance of development into early next week is possible as it moves north.

    A chance of formation is 20% in the next seven days.

    So, no hurricane threat at the moment. But, since they predicted a high volume hurricane season they have to report something.
