One dead, another seriously injured in crash on I-4 in Lakeland: FHP

LAKELAND, Fla (WFLA)— One person has died and one is seriously injured following a crash on Interstate 4 in Lakeland, The Florida Highway Patrol said.

A Toyota 4Runner driven by a 42-year-old Bradenton woman traveling westbound hit a Ford F550 driven by a 41-year-old Altamonte Springs man.

According to FHP, the Toyota 4Runner traveled left after hitting the Ford, and then went back across the highway before overturning and striking the Exit 33 road sign.

The driver of the Ford F550 was not injured.

The woman in the Toyota 4Runner died at the scene of the crash. A passenger in the 4Runner, a 27-year-old Palmetto man suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital.
