Sarasota Police Department closes numerous roadways due to flooding

Sarasota, Fla. (WFLA) — The Sarasota Police Department closed numerous roads due to flooding from Hurricane Helene.

The current road closures are:

• 700 block of South Boulevard of the Presidents to Taft Drive
• The intersection of Norsota Way and Siesta Drive
• Indian Beach-Sapphire Shore neighborhood
• The intersection of Palm Avenue and Banana Court
• The north entrance to Siesta Key

SPD asks residents not to venture out due to flooding, officers have already responded to vehicles stuck in flooded roadways.
