    1 dead after road sign falls on car along I-4 near Ybor City during Helene

    TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — One person died Thursday night after a road sign fell on their car while driving on I-4 near Ybor City during Hurricane Helene, according to Gov. Ron DeSantis.

    Traffic cameras in the area showed the sign on top of a car.

    ‘Please help’: Tampa Bay residents take to social media to get help for loved ones

    “It’s very dangerous conditions out there,” DeSantis said during a Thursday night news conference.

    No other information about the crash was immediately available.

    Hurricane Helene made landfall Thursday night as a major Category 4 hurricane in the Big Bend region. The storm left behind flooding and damage across the Tampa Bay area.
