PERRY, Fla. (WFLA) — Governor Ron DeSantis speaks on the recovery efforts after Hurricane Helene in Dekle Beach on Saturday.

DeSantis was joined by Florida Division of Emergency Management Director Kevin Guthrie, FEMA Director Deanna Criswell, and Major General John D. Haas, Adjutant General of Florida.

According to DeSantis, around 457,858 Floridians are currently without power.

“We have cleared over 12,000 miles of roadway that had debris from the storm, and we cleared I-10, which was cleared in about six hours after the storm,” DeSantis said.

The State of Florida has already restored power to more than 1.9 million Floridians.

DeSantis signed an executive order declaring a state of emergency for 61 counties. Residents can get updates on county resources and a list of all 67 county emergency management contacts.
