Gov. DeSantis, Emergency Management Director give updates on Helene recovery efforts

STEINHATCHEE, Fla. (WFLA) — Officials spoke in Steinhatchee after Florida’s Big Bend was devastated by Hurricane Helene last week.

Governor DeSantis announced that 3.32 million customers in Florida have had power restored since Helene hit the state. Around 80,000 are still without power, the governor announced.

Governor Ron DeSantis was joined by Florida Division of Emergency Management Director Kevin Guthrie and Major General John D. Haas outside of Roy’s Restaurant in Steinhatchee.
