    Bradenton Beach will reopen to residents, business owners on Thursday

    BRADENTON BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — Residents and business owners will be allowed back to Bradenton Beach on Thursday, one week after Hurricane Helene struck the area with devastating storm surge.

    Those looking to enter will have to pass a checkpoint located at Cortez Road West and 127th Street West beginning at 8 a.m.

    Vehicles must have a red entry tag to enter. Residents without tags must provide ID and proof of residency, like a utility bill, to receive a tag.

    People entering Bradenton Beach may access any road that the Florida Department of Transportation has cleared are asked to park on side streets or on their property to avoid blocking roads.

    No vehicles may park on Gulf Drive North or South. If they do, they will be towed.
