TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Light to moderate showers expected off and on through the day. There will be enough breaks especially in the afternoon to get home preparations done ahead of Hurricane Milton. It’s still humid, so when the sun comes out, it will feel warm and muggy. Highs reach the low 80s.

Fewer showers expected tomorrow as final preparations and evacuations need to be complete. Rain chance is still 50% throughout the day.

Impacts from Hurricane Milton begin Wednesday. While the exact location of landfall is still in question, it does not look like the west coast of Florida will escape impacts from a major hurricane.

Areas just to the south of the eye at landfall will get the highest surge. Areas to the north of the eye may end of getting higher rainfall totals.

Once Milton heads into the Atlantic, less humid air arrives Thursday. For the many left without power, some much-needed cooler air arrives. Highs will be in the low 80s to end the week, and overnight lows will be in the 60s.
