TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A mandatory evacuation was issued for Tampa in Zones A and B, the City of Tampa reminds residents about the Hurricane Re-Entry Program once the evacuation is lifted.

Tampa’s re-entry program is designed for residents and business owners to re-enter the area and prevent potential criminals from entering the impacted area.

When residents or business owners are trying to reenter, public safety officials screen vehicles in impacted areas, according to The City of Tampa.

A re-entry hang tag will allow vehicles to bypass the normal public screening required.

According to the city, the tag will help with safety and can speed up the process of getting residents and business owners in the impacted area.

The first tag is free for residents and business owners. Any additional tags will cost $5 each and can be purchased by filling out a form.

Hang tags will only be issued when an evacuation notice is issued by the City of Tampa.

So it takes 30 days of I assessed the application correctly. What good does this do for residents now? Maybe do this at the beginning of hurricane season and not post about as we are being hit by an apocalyptic hurricane where the majority of residents evacuated.
