Watch: Driver narrowly escapes as tree crashes on car ahead of Milton

DELAND, Fla. (WFLA) — A driver narrowly escaped injury Wednesday when a large tree branch fell onto a car as Hurricane Milton approached the area, according to police.

Dashcam footage from a DeLand police officer shows a car traveling on South Clara Avenue when a branch suddenly crashed down. Photos of the car reveal the windshield on the passenger side was shattered.

Police said the driver was unharmed. They used the incident to remind residents to remain sheltered as the storm approached.
