Sheriff’s office reassures residents that Medard Park Dam is not compromised

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reassured residents Friday evening that the Medard Park Dam is not compromised.

Deputies said water is being released from the dam to relieve pressure in the event of more rain.

The release of water comes as areas across Tampa Bay are still dealing with flooding from Hurricane Milton, which brought record rainfall to the area.

HCSO said there is no danger to the public.
