VIDEO: Dad gets dragged by car operated by 9-year-old son

TOLEDO, Ohio (WJW) – An Ohio man was hospitalized after he allegedly took his 9-year-old son on a driving lesson while drunk.

According to Officer Nicole Tucker’s affidavit to the summons filed in Toledo Clerk of Court , 36-year-old Clejuan Williams let his 9-year-old son get behind the wheel last Sunday, and instructed him to “press the pedals.”

The affidavit said the child did not know which pedal to press and accidentally put the car in reverse. That is when the vehicle drove backward into a pole across the street.

The video shows Williams getting knocked down and dragged beneath the car.

A neighbor told Storyful that the father was then taken to the hospital after the crash, where he is now recovering.

“I just want to bring awareness that this could happen to anybody,” the neighbor said.

According to PEOPLE , Williams is charged with one count of first-degree misdemeanor endangerment of children by creating a substantial risk to their health or safety and wrongful entrustment of a vehicle to a person who does not have a valid license.

He is set to be arraigned on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
