    St. Pete opens storm debris drop-off sites, comfort stations

    ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — Mayor Kenneth Welch announced a temporary storm debris drop-off site, along with recovery efforts in St. Petersburg following Hurricane Milton.

    Storm debris drop-off

    The city of St. Petersburg opened a temporary debris management site where residents and private haulers can drop off storm debris.

    Special needs shelter

    The step-down shelter is available for those with special needs so that they can continue to recover from the hurricane.

    The location for the step-down shelter will be at the Coliseum, located at 535 4th Ave N .

      Fuel sites

      The city of St. Petersburg also opened a free fuel distribution site on Saturday from now until 7 p.m.

      The site is located at 800 1st Ave. S. and residents can enter from 1st Ave. S. and receive up to 10 gallons.

      Due to the shortage of fuel, the city said to expect delays and traffic between MLK St. and Central Ave. to be backed up. If you do not need gas, please avoid the area.
