TAMPA, Fla. (October 14, 2024) — In the wake of Hurricanes Milton and Helene, Hurricane Help Florida , in collaboration with several local event promoters, is hosting a Hurricane Relief Fundraiser on Thursday, October 17 , at 511 Franklin in downtown Tampa. The event, spearheaded by board member Tevin Faison , aims to raise funds for both immediate disaster relief and long-term rebuilding efforts across the Greater Tampa Bay area.
The fundraiser, which starts at 4 PM and runs until close, is supported by key local promotion companies such as Tampa Baysic , Tampa Latest , One of Us , and Origins Ranch . Proceeds from the event will go directly to Hurricane Help Florida’s mission to rebuild homes, provide critical resources, and better prepare communities for future storms.
“We’re committed to helping Floridians rebuild stronger and safer after these devastating hurricanes,” said Kristen Seeley , founder of Hurricane Help Florida. “This fundraiser is not just about immediate relief, but also about ensuring long-term stability for affected communities.”
How to Get Involved
Hurricane Help Florida has partnered with the Hurricane Warriors , a volunteer group founded by Kayla Jones and Taylor Parker , to provide hands-on assistance in the aftermath of storms. The Hurricane Warriors , with over 300 volunteers, are focused on clearing debris, gutting homes, and removing drywall for families affected by the hurricanes.
You can also donate to support these efforts through their GoFundMe , which helps supply PPE, gutting materials, and rebuilding resources for families in need.
A Proven Track Record in Disaster Relief
Hurricane Help Florida, a nonprofit under the Global Hope Collective , was founded by Kristen Seeley, who has over two decades of disaster recovery experience. Kristen’s commitment to disaster relief began in Honduras following Hurricane Mitch in 1997 and solidified during her two years helping rebuild homes and communities in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina .
The organization’s initiatives include FloridaHelp.Live , a platform designed to connect volunteer rescuers with those in need of emergency assistance during hurricanes, and the Hurricane Warriors , a volunteer group dedicated to post-disaster recovery.
With their combined efforts, Hurricane Help Florida is focused on rebuilding stronger communities and ensuring residents are better prepared for future storms.
Founded in response to the need for scalable, volunteer-driven disaster recovery, Hurricane Help Florida is dedicated to providing expert guidance, essential resources, and hands-on support to Floridians recovering from hurricanes. Through initiatives like FloridaHelp.Live and the Hurricane Warriors, the organization seeks to restore stability and help families rebuild their homes and lives.
