PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (WFLA) — A homeowner used a piece of Tampa Bay history to protect her Pinellas Park home from Hurricane Milton.

Olivia Crew said her dad came upon an old sign for the Howard Frankland Bridge at a yard sale a long time ago.

When Milton threatened the Tampa Bay area, they didn’t have wood to board up the windows, so they decided to use the sign.

In classic “Florida Man” fashion, they cut up the sign into pieces to protect the windows.
