Florida couple dies of possible carbon monoxide poisoning from generator after Milton, report says

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida couple died of possible carbon monoxide poisoning from a generator after Hurricane Milton, according to a report.

Police said Perry Leintz, 67, and Constance Albrecht, 85, were found dead at their Tavares home on Tuesday, according to WESH .

Neighbors told police that the couple had been using a generator after they lost power, WESH reported. The generator was reportedly inside of a shed connected to the house.

The station reported that the medical examiner believes the couple died from carbon monoxide poisoning, but a cause of death won’t officially be known until the completion of an autopsy in a few weeks. There were no signs of foul play.

Officials warn people using gas generators to use them in a ventilated area outside their homes, and away from any doors or windows.
