    Manatee County extends warning period for school zone speeding

    BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — Manatee County Government announced school zones with speed detection cameras have extended the warning period due to Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.

    The warning period was extended till Oct. 31.

    The following school zones with speed detection cameras are:

    • Bayshore Elementary School
    • Gullett Elementary School/ Jain Middle School
    • Elects Lee Magnet Middle School
    • James Tillman Elementary School
    • Marjorie Kinnan Elementary School
    • Oneco Elementary
    • Palm View K-8
    • Southeast High School

    Manatee County Government reminds any travelers going 10 miles over the speed limit during school zone flashing times or any time during the school day will receive a warning.

    Starting Nov. 1, violations will result in a $100 fine, according to Manatee County Government.

    I don’t understand why we have to warn people to obey the law. The warning was when you got your license at 16yrs old
