    FEMA opens Disaster Recovery Centers in 10 Florida counties

    TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — FEMA has opened Disaster Recovery Centers in multiple Florida counties as the state recovers from Hurricane Helene, Milton, and Debby.

    The centers — opened in Citrus, Columbia, Gilchrist, Hillsborough, Madison, Manatee, Pinellas, Sarasota, Suwannee, and Taylor counties — will provide one-on-one help to Floridians who are survivors of any of the three storms.

    Survivors do not need to visit the centers to get assistance. Survivors can apply for aid online at DisasterAssistance.gov .

    The centers are available at the following locations:

    Citrus County

    • West Citrus Community Center
    • 8940 W. Veterans Drive
    • Homosassa, FL 34448
    • Open 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Sunday

    Columbia County

    • Lake City Reporter
    • 180 E. Duval St.
    • Lake City, FL 32055
    • 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Sunday

    Gilchrist County

    • Gilchrist County Fire Station #2
    • 460 NW County Road 138
    • Branford, FL 32008
    • Open 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Sunday

    Hillsborough County (Mobile Center)

    • David Barksdale Senior Citizen Center
    • 1801 N. Lincoln Ave.

    • Open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Sunday

    When this center moves to a new location, details will be provided to the public.

    The Florida Division of Emergency Management and FEMA are also reopening centers that were in place for Debby and Helene.

    Other center locations can be found at fema.gov/drc or by texting “DRC” and a Zip Code to 43362. All centers are accessible to people with disabilities or access and functional needs and are equipped with assistive technology.
