Pinellas County opens sand drop-off location for residents and businesses

CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — A sand drop-off site has opened in Pinellas County for all county residents and businesses.

Any storm-related sand can be dropped off at Sand Key Park from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.

Sandbags will not be accepted. If residents need to dispose of clean sandbags, officials advise residents to spread the sand on lawns or landscape beds.

Do not dump sandbags onto the beach.

Pinellas County inspectors and a contractor will be on-site to assist with operations, according to officials.

The sand drop-off site is for bulk sand only, If residents need to dispose of other debris they are asked to visit their website for other locations.
