    Pasco County deputy rescued after car overturns, becomes submerged in floodwaters

    DADE CITY, Fla. (WFLA) — Two Pasco County law enforcement officers survived their car overturning and becoming submerged in water on Friday.

    A Pasco County deputy and Dade City officer were in the area of Dixie Avenue surveying flooding when the vehicle overturned in a body of water, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

    The Dade City officer escaped the vehicle while the Pasco deputy became trapped. The officer, along with bystanders, freed the deputy.

    The deputy was taken to the hospital. The sheriff’s office did not release any additional details.
