PIERSON, Fla. (WFLA) — One woman’s call to “order a pizza” saved her from a man attempting to rape her in a field in Florida.

Over the weekend, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office received a call at around 4 a.m. from a woman calling to order a pizza.

But the pizza was just a mere cover for a desperate plea for help.

After the woman places her pretend order, the operator asks is she is aware that she is calling 911.

“Yes, I’m sure I’m calling to that number,” she replied.

Immediately, the 911 operator realizes the victim is in danger and triangulates her phone, due to her not knowing the location of the field she was in, after being brought there by the suspect.

Officials used the coordinates to dispatch deputies, who went out on foot, to roam several fields to locate the victim. The sheriff’s office said Pierson has “acres and acres” of fields.

Loud music was what revealed the location of the victim and the abuser, deputies said. They found the man on top of “the screaming female.”

“He’s trying to rape me. Can you help me?” the woman yelled out.

Once the deputies found the victim, the woman was sobbing, telling authorities the man was trying to rape her. She is heard continuously thanking the deputies for rescuing her.

“We’re here now, okay,” deputies told the woman. “He’s got him.”

According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Luis Diego Hernandez-Moncayo. The victim told officials the two had known each other and that he had taken the victim to a field to have a few drinks. She said after Hernandez-Moncayo did a line of cocaine, he “did a 180,” becoming extremely violent.

Deputies said that Hernandez-Moncayo is in the country illegally and that the day before the incident, he applied for asylum.

“I can’t say enough about the great work shown in this video and the smart thinking of this victim who figured out a way to call for help,” Sheriff Mike Chitwood said.

Hernandez-Moncayo is currently being held in jail on felony counts for attempted sexual battery, battery by strangulation, and false imprisonment. Border patrol has also lodged a detainer against him.
