A return to Camp Randall: Luxemburg-Casco & Wrightstown eye consecutive state appearances

(WFRV) – For the first time in over two decades, northeast Wisconsin does not have a reigning state football champion after Luxemburg-Casco and Wrightstown both lost in their respective state title games. For those two programs, they are using that defeat as motivation entering this Fall.

For L-C, the path gets much harder. The Spartans hadn’t made a state championship game before last season and why they made history was largely thanks to starting quarterback Max Ronsman, who led the team in rushing and passing yards. Add leading receiver Trace Schoenebeck to the mix and Lux-Casco had a two-headed monster that ultimately resulted in a silver ball. But with those two players graduated, the Spartans enter this season with the lofty goal of once again climbing to the mountain top of division three.

Wrightstown is a different story. Although the Tigers lost double-digit seniors, they return their starting QB and running back. However, the North Eastern Conference does not get any easier with teams like Two Rivers (who have not lost a regular season contest in two seasons) entering the fold.

Hear from both teams as they vie to return to Camp Randall after historic seasons last year.
