SUAMICO, Wis. (WFRV) – Bay Port football enters this season just one year removed from an 8-3 finish where the Pirates fell in level two of the playoffs. But the offseason has arguably been more notable for the reigning FRCC-North champs.

Last year, Gary Westerman stepped down as head coach, leaving the reigns to former assistant coach Steven Jorgensen who led Fond Du Lac to an undefeated season in ’20-’21.

Hear more from the new head man in the video above about his transition back to a head coaching role, and how his players buying into the standard he sets will prove vital come the season opener on Thursday at Middleton.
