Xceptional Athlete: Freedom’s Drew Kortz

FREEDOM, Wis. (WFRV) – Freedom football entered last season fresh off consecutive state semifinal appearances, but the Irish ran into a buzzsaw of a conference schedule, finishing with a 4-5 record.

This season, Freedom is off to a blistering start. The Irish are 6-0, just as they were back in ’21 and ’22. A large reason for their success is their starting quarterback Drew Kortz, who also doubles as a starting safety. Kortz has yet to slow down in the backfield racking up over 1700 all-purpose yards through the first six games, along with 19 total touchdowns.
