    ‘This is a shock’: Neighbor of two Winnebago County men found dead react to the loss

    POYGAN, Wis. (WFRV) — The community in Poygan is mourning and seeking answers after two men were found dead Sunday evening at a residence on Quigley Road.

    Authorities responded to the home in the 7000 block around 5:30 p.m. on October 13. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office identified the deceased as 61-year-old Richard Davis and his 26-year-old son, Alexander Davis.

    Neighbor Edward Veith, who lives nearby, expressed shock upon hearing the news. “It doesn’t make sense. I was in shock, I’m sad,” he said, adding that Richard was known for being friendly and enjoyed spending time with his sons, often playing basketball or working on cars.

    The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that deputies and detectives initiated a death investigation immediately after discovering the bodies. While the investigation remains active and ongoing, authorities have stated that the incident appears isolated, with no threat to the public.
