    Milwaukee woman arrested for OWI, pending charge of firearm possession while intoxicated

    ELM GROVE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities with the Elm Grove Police Department announced that a woman was arrested for an OWI offense and charges are pending for possession of a firearm while intoxicated.

    Around 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, the 32-year-old identified as a woman from Milwaukee, was arrested after she was seen slumped over the wheel in a vehicle that was stopped in the 2000 Block of Hollyhock Lane.

    The woman failed Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, leading to her arrest for a first-offense OWI.

    A further search of the vehicle unveiled a loaded handgun within her reach. She refused a chemical blood test.

    She was issued municipal citations for OWI-1st and operating after suspension. The firearm charge is being referred to the Waukesha County District Attorney’s office.
