FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – A 47-year-old man allegedly involved in a 2020 fentanyl overdose in Fond du Lac had his bond revoked after entering a guilty plea to a homicide charge.

According to Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney, Joshua P. Weber pleaded guilty to First Degree Reckless Homicide – Party a Crime, a Class B Felony.

The charge against Weber stems from a fentanyl overdose on December 29, 2020, in Fond du Lac. Authorities say the victim’s blood contained 6.4 ng/mL of fentanyl and 6 ng/mL of norfentanyl.

Due to the plea, Weber had his bond revoked and had a sentencing date set for January 27, 2025.

Deadly fentanyl has poured across the southern border and is continuing to destroy families and communities. This is another family that tragically lost a loved one from the scourge of fentanyl. It underscores the need to control the southern border and end the flow of illegal drugs into our communities.

The overdose was investigated by the City of Fond du Lac Police Department and Lake Winnebago Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group.
